Uniting Sky, Sea, and Earth.
Join the Walturi tribe as you enjoy the story within the volcano.
The story behind Volcano Bay is that the Sky, Sea and Earth united to form it.
A god, named Krakatau, dominated the land with a fierce hand, but he could not keep control of his daughter, Tai Nui. She fell in love with Kala, and when her father learned of the relationship, he was outraged because Kala was a native Waturi. He banished him to the sky, where he became the Moon.
Heartbroken, Tai Nui’s tears became the Sea. Krakatau realized he hurt his daughter, whom he loved the most, so to reunite her with Kala, he reached into the earth and pulled it to the sky, creating the volcano (Volcano Bay). Krakatau trapped his anger in the form of the fire spirit, Vol, and imprisoned him deep within the volcano.
Later, the Waturi came looking for Kunuku, a fish, and finally found it in Volcano Bay, so they settled there and still remain today. You are welcomed into this village as a guest. The whole park has a Polynesian vibe to it, and it just might be the best water park in the world!
