Typhoon Lagoon

The Winds Swept the Ships Here.

One of the water park experiences at Walt Disney World.

Typhoon Lagoon, Walt Disney World

Typhoon Lagoon is meant to mirror the aftermath of a typhoon or hurricane type disaster. The story is that the typhoon stranded the ships here in the lagoon, leaving all sorts of treasure sprinkled about. The survivors then made a home out of this place, and now, guests can enjoy their creation! This is a place for families of all ages to get wet and wild, enjoying both thrill rides and calm water activities. The story is themed throughout the attractions, so be sure to check them all out!

Disney’s water parks have staggered openings, meaning if Blizzard Beach is open, Typhoon Lagoon will not be open, and if Typhoon Lagoon is open, Blizzard Beach will not be open. They are different parks with different theming, but both parks are a lot of fun and have a diverse set of attractions and dining for guests of all ages! Take a look at what this water park has to offer!

Attractions

From thrill rides to lazy river, there is something for everyone in this typhoon turned water park! This is great for a rest day or to enhance your Disney vacation! Click each attraction to learn more.

Castaway Creek
A fun, lazy river with a few waterfalls and plenty of shade to relax. This river is 2000 feet long. 5 checkpoints along the river to get out, get in, or grab an inner tube.
Bay Slides
2 slides that are both gentle and end in a pool, where parents can scoop them up. Littles only. Guests must be 60″ or shorter to ride. Kids under 10 years old need an over 18 person with them to ride.
Crush 'n' Gusher
A watercoaster with a raft. 3 different chutes (Pineapple Plunger, Coconut Crusher, and Banana Blaster). 1 or 2 person raft. 48″ or taller to ride.
Gangplank Falls
Family slide for up to 4 people in each tube at a time. The inner tubes are oversized rafts, and the slide is wide, so you can spin and swerve.
Humunga Kowabunga
No inner tubes needed for this 214 foot slide (about 5 stories), and there are 3 of them, so you can race your friends! It is an almost vertical drop. 48″ to ride.
Keelhaul Falls
A one person inner tube ride for guests of all ages! The slide is a little wider, so you will feel some twists and turns as you enjoy the ride. It comes out with a splash into a large pool.
Ketchakiddee Creek
A water playground for kids! Shallow pools with animals, Mini waterslides, splash pads, waterfall, and tugboat to explore. Has a sandy beach area
Mayday Falls
The highest and longest slide at Typhoon Lagoon, but it is pretty tame. Only one person at a time can enjoy this one, and it is inner tube style. There are no height requirements.
Miss Adventure Falls
A whitewater rafting adventure for the whole family! The raft is oversized and on a conveyer belt, so you will experience twists and turns and get drenched!
Storm Slides
A 3 slide adventure for racers! Choose between three identical slides (Jib Jammer, Stern Burner, Rudder Buster). The finale is the fun part because there is about a 3 foot drop at the end into a waterfall!
