Pop Century Resort is one of the most popluar resorts on WDW property because of several reasons. It is on the Skyliner, so transportation to EPCOT and Hollywood Studios is seamless.
Pop is also considered a Value Resort, so the prices are extremely competitive, but the rooms are modern and very nice. Pop has huge pools and so much to see on the grounds of each building. Location is really important when staying at Pop because you want to be close to the Skyliner, and some guests want to be close to the food court.
While there are no Table Service restaurants on property at Pop, there is a food court with a wide variety of food and drink options, as well as grab and go options to satisfy all ages and taste buds!
Each building is themed after a specific decade, including fashion, games, Disney movies, music, and more, so you will constantly feel the magic all around you!
Checking In and Out
Check-in is 3:00pm, and check-out is 11:00am. You can request late check out or early check in from the app (not guaranteed).
WDW makes it easy to check in and out of the resort. You can check in via the front desk. The App allows mobile check in, so you can go straight to your room (you will get a notification and text when your room is ready). You can unlock your door with your phone (or MagicBand), and check your daily charges (charges you make on your MagicBand or charge directly to the room). I find mobile check in to be the most convenient!
At check out, you will automatically be checked out if there are no outstanding charges. You can stop by the front desk, but there is no need. You will even get a print out of your charges and stay slipped under your door the morning of check out.
NOTE: If you are leaving early, go ahead and throw some pixie dust out and check out on the app to let the cast members know they can come get your room ready for the next guests!
Room Types
Different room types offer different amenities, so they have different price points. All hotel rooms at Pop are 260 sq. ft. and have either a King bed or 2 Queens (configured into 1 Queen bed and 1 Queen table bed). Standard rooms are less expensive and the location is further from the food and transportation, but the rooms generally look the same. The main difference with the rooms is location and proximity to dining and the Skyliner station. Pop is a huge resort, so it is usually worth it to pay for preferred for convenience to the Skyliner.
The guest rooms have all been updated to have a very modern feel. The beds are raised, giving you space for your suitcases. There is plenty of closet and drawer space, and I find the outlets to be strategically placed for all your gadgets! The floors are laminate, so this makes the whole space feel cleaner. There is a tub/shower combo with shampoo, conditioner, and body wash, and the second Queen bed will be a Table bed, but it is just as comfy as a regular bed! Standard amenities are provided in each room, including hair dryers, coffee maker, iron, safe, phone, Complimentary WiFi, and mini-fridge. You will also find self-service laundry facilities ($3 per cycle) and dry cleaning/valet laundry services.
The buildings also have elevators to help with luggage and strollers.
The buildings at Pop Century are sorted by decade and number, so the map correlates to the room types.
1950s: Bowling pins, Jukebox, Lady and the Tramp. Building 1, 2, 3 – Preferred Rooms, closest to the Classic Hall (Lobby and Food Court) and the Bus Station.
1960s: Disco dancers, Mowgli, Baloo, Goofy, Flowers, and Peace signs. Building 4 and 5 have preferred rooms and preferred pool view rooms (overlooks Bowling Pool). These rooms are closest to the Skyliner and the bridge that connects the path to Art of Animation.
1970s: Oversized Foosball, Mickey Mouse, and Twister Board. Building 6 and 10 have preferred rooms and are closest to the Classic Hall (Lobby and Food Court). The Hippy Dippy Pool and the Computer Pool are on either side of these buildings.
1980s: Roger Rabbit and Mr. Potato Head. Building 7 and 8 are standard room locations. Some of these rooms are closer to the buses and Classic Hall, but they are further from the Skyliner.
1990s: Computer , floppy disc, hip hop dancers. Building 8 has only standard rooms, but it is the furthest from the Skyliner, buses, and Classic Hall.
Dining Options
The Value Resorts do not have any Table Service Dining, but they do have great food courts that have an option for everyone! Certain meals count as Quick Service credits on the dining plan, and there are snack credit options here as well. Those will be labeled when purchasing. There is a grab and go station as well as different types of hot food to choose. The food court table area is a set yourself set up, and strollers are allowed in the seating area. Everything POP allows mobile ordering, which can be a great idea if there is a large crowd.
The pool bar is also a good place to grab a quick bite without having to get all the way dry and dressed to go to the food court.

Pools
Pop Century Resort has three pools, two of which are located near the preferred rooms at the resort. The Computer pool is near some of the standard rooms, so you can still have great access to the pools, no matter which room type you choose. All of the pools at Pop are family friendly, and the Hippy Dippy pool has a snack shop where you can get food and alcohol.
Transportation Options
You can get to Pop Century from several different routes. To get to Magic Kingdom or Animal Kingdom, you need to take the bus transportation. To get to EPCOT or Hollywood Studios, you need to take the Skyliner transportation. You can do Uber, Lyft, or Minnie Vans (operated by Lyft) as well for an additional cost, and of course you can drive in your own car.
Parking at Disney resorts is FREE for resort guests. Also, complimentary self-parking is also available for non-resort guests exploring dining, shopping, or other resort entertainment during the day.
Shopping and Entertainment
Pros of Pop Century
SKYLINE. SKYLINER. SKYLINER. This is the best mode of transportation, in my opinion.
Modern and functional rooms with comfortable beds.
Tends to be less expensive that moderate and deluxe resorts.
Pop Century is 1000% Disney themed. From the moment you arrive, you will be immersed in the magic.
There are buses dedicated to Pop, so you do not share pick ups with other resorts. Parking is also convenient.
Walking distance from Art of Animation with access to another food court.
Pop Century offers Childcare Services – In room babysitting for children 6 months to 12 years of age for an additional charge.
Cons of Pop Century
Value Resort, so you will not get the perks of the deluxe resorts.
Can get noisy because it is large and priced well, so a lot of families stay here.
The resort is fairly spread out, so choose the preferred rooms to avoid so much walking through the resort.
Rooms are smaller than moderate and deluxe resorts.
Bus stops from the park entrances are further away, so there is more walking.
